Health Company Partners with Rookie NASCAR Modified Racer

Meridian, Idaho, April 12, 2021— John Clever, 14-year-old Idaho race car driver, started the racing season on April 10th with a newly wrapped, Microbe Formulas-sponsored car coined the “Microbe Maverick.” Although it is John’s 4th year racing, it is his 1st year in a full-size car in the NASCAR modified series.

Meridian-based health company, Microbe Formulas, set out in the sponsorship to both support local youth and help spread their message of hope and healing. This is the first race car driver Microbe Formulas has sponsored. The partnership will include financial support, along with a Microbe-branded car and gear for the team and pit crew.

Jeremiah Clever, John’s father and manager, says, “My family is really happy that we can partner with an organization that respects one another, internally, as family. Our race team and Microbe will work well together because of our shared values."

Jeremiah explained that the idea for a potential partnership was initially sparked by a billboard. Microbe Formulas displayed “Yay! I Pooped Today” billboards around the Treasure Valley in their recent campaign to raise gut health awareness. Jeremiah joked with his son about getting Microbe Formulas to sponsor him so he could have poop graphics on his new car. After some research, the family discovered Microbe Formulas’ mission and products and reached out to develop the partnership.

John started racing at age 10, driving a 4-cylinder Jr. Stinger car. In 2019, John placed 3rd overall in Jr. Stingers. John is multi-talented: he started racing BMX at age 4, placed third in the world for his age group for single rope freestyle jump rope acrobatics, and now wrestles and plays football for Lone Star Middle School in Meridian. Along with that, he finds time to maintain a 3.5 GPA.

Ryan Riley, one of Microbe Formulas’ owners, said regarding the sponsorship: “We are stoked to be getting involved in the community in such a unique way. John is a very promising racer, and we are eager to support him in pursuing his talents.”

The racing team, Tin Star Racing, can be found on Facebook here. John’s next race will be held at Meridian Speedway on April 24th. You can get more information and tickets here.
